Here’s a sneak peek at my process on how I normally do most illustrations. Primarily they are digital, especially on ones with a fast turnaround time, anywhere from a few hours to (for this one,) 2 days.

Still Snowing Sketchdump

It’s still freezing cold here in Calgary! Sleet, rain, snow, wind, it’s like the Ice Age all over again.

Anyways, here’s some sketchbook shenanigans:

This is for the 100th follower on my twitter, that isn’t a sandwich item. (It’ll make sense in a minute!)

When I offered a gift drawing for my 100th follower on Twitter, the user, “bighamsandwich” got the dubious honor. So as I’ve promised, here’s a sexy ham sandwich image for them.

These are some quick sketches based on the musical episode of Fringe, called “Brown Betty.” It was based on some futuristic take on the 1940′s, and it was delightful, despite being non-canon. Bonus points if you can recognize the characters I drew (badly.)

Just a random girl, a bit of a throwback to my anime-drawing days. Yes, I admit it, I drew anime.

Anyways, it’s nice to be doing a bit more sketching, and I’m starting to get used to using gouache in the moleskine again.

Ugh, what is with the weather! It’s been completely insane lately–Calgary is slated to receive 5 more cm of snow on top of the 5-10cm we got last night. Hopefully the city isn’t falling apart; we tend to lose our brains when it snows.

Anyways, here’s some art! I’ve been on a gouache/evil drag queen kick. I’ve got some cockamamie idea about drag queens in space, fighting each other in dazzling, magical girl-style battles. How amazing would that be?! (Probably only amazing to me.)

Hello all!
Here’s a preview image of the super top-secret (not really) project writer Kurtis Weibe and I are collaborating on.
It’s about a trio of kids that gets into very interesting hijinks.

Frank Zigarelli is responsible for the lettering and speechbubbles.
I hope you all like it! It will be available at Emerald City Comic con, I think, in Seattle.

I just wanted to take a moment to remember an amazing instructor who has recently passed away.
Eugene was one of my favourite instructors at ACAD, he was funny, lively and incredibly encouraging.
If it wasn’t for his mentoring, I don’t think I would be where I am today.

So I just wanted to say that we all miss you, Eugene, and my prayers are with his family.
