Hello all!
Here’s a preview image of the super top-secret (not really) project writer Kurtis Weibe and I are collaborating on.
It’s about a trio of kids that gets into very interesting hijinks.

Frank Zigarelli is responsible for the lettering and speechbubbles.
I hope you all like it! It will be available at Emerald City Comic con, I think, in Seattle.

I just wanted to take a moment to remember an amazing instructor who has recently passed away.
Eugene was one of my favourite instructors at ACAD, he was funny, lively and incredibly encouraging.
If it wasn’t for his mentoring, I don’t think I would be where I am today.

So I just wanted to say that we all miss you, Eugene, and my prayers are with his family.

NSFW, swearing and nude mans!

This is for all you new dads:

Adventures in gouache!

And I bring to you, the First Daily Tanya Fail! This one is of how my mother claimed she was going to “just trim your bangs a bit, dear,” and ended up chopping off a head of shoulder-length hair. RAGE!

And there we have it! There will be more to come, and I hope you enjoyed the inaugural opening of Tanya Fails!

Here’s something I did for a submission for Uppercase Magazine, for their Gallery of Foxes.
Hopefully I am accepted, because I was a bit past deadline!

It will also be going into my portfolio, so sorry for showing it twice.
It’s about foxes and their love of trampolines, as evidenced in this video!

I am planning on doing another fox image, as they are just too fun to not draw a bunch of them! It won’t be submitted for the Gallery of Foxes, because it will be way overdue, but it will be a fun image. I am thinking of playing around with gouache again, and we will see how that pans out.

And here’s something I just whipped up, after looking at Dice Tsutsumi’s amazing stuff.
She sort of has a Louise Brooks feel to it, I think?!

Anyways, it’s back to UFO Documentaries for me and colouring my super-secret comic book project.

My sketches have been getting incrementally crazier, as the hours pass. It’s better than nothing, I guess, so here you go:

By the way, that image is the most accurate self-portrait of me ever done. Here it is in colour:

It also is the start of what I affectionately call, “Tanya Fails.” They are going to be generally humorous sketches/images of myself, in various hilarious situations. Just a daily sketch, to get back into drawing for fun.

And there we have it! I promise, I’ll post more normal images soon enough. Maybe.

Hey all,
I have been pretty quiet on the blogging/updating thing, but that’s only because I have been super-busy working with the great Kurtis Wiebe, on a pet project. I’ve also been doing things for Bitch Magazine, AHFMR (I hope I got that acronym right!), and various other fantastic magazines.

I’m very excited to be working on this project with Kurtis, and will be hopefully debuting the finished preview product, at the Seattle Comic Con in March! In the meantime, here are a few little teaser images:
